The Italian alphabet consists of 21 letters:

R   S   T   U   V   Z

The letters K, W, X, Y don’t belong to the Italian alphabet, though they can be frequently found in many words derived from other languages.

Unlike in English, vowels in Italian words are always pronounced as in the alphabet, so as:

A /a/

E /e/

                             I /i/

O /o/

U /u/
